Billionaire Lekki Gardens MD Goes To Court In Handcuffs


Those who know this man, Mr. Richard Nyong, the MD of Lekki Gardens, owners of the collapsed building in Lagos which killed about 35 people early this week, say he's a good man who has made housing much more affordable in Lagos Island through his many building projects.

An Ebute-Metta Chief Magistrate Court on Friday granted the request of the Lagos Police Command to keep the Managing Director of Lekki Gardens, Richard Nyong in custody pending the conclusion of on-going investigation into collapse of a five-storey building under construction on Kushenla Road, Ikate Elegushi area of the state which killed no fewer than 35 persons.
He will be in custody for 30 days, pending the conclusion of investigation, then they will return to court.
