A Speech Presented By The Loveth Udoka Ajufoh, CEO QLA Nigeria Limited & National Director Miss Grand Nigeria Beauty Pageant At The National Conference Held At Feminar Café Hall, LTV, Lagos, 18th August 2015:
I am delighted to welcome you to the press conference to usher in a new experience in the world of pageantry in Nigeria. Miss Grand Nigeria, an affiliation of Miss Grand International.

Miss Grand International was established in 2013 as an annual international beauty contest by the Miss Grand International Organization based in Bangkok, Thailand. Over the years, it has been committed to the development of mankind by searching for potential woman to encourage and run the campaign 'Stop the war and Violence' to help acknowledge people to avoid the conflict and violence that may lead to war in any form.

QLA Nigeria limited, an event management organization based in Lagos has secured the franchise of the Nigerian version of the pageant, (Miss Grand Nigeria) with the approval of Miss Grand International, President, Nawat Itsaragrisil. And we are proud to bring his goodwill message here today.

Apart from reinforcing the overall objective of the programme, Miss Grand Nigeria seeks to promote peace and tourism in Nigeria while empowering young women to achieve their personal and professional goals using their beauty, talents and intelligence.

It is our belief that the event will go a long way in positioning Nigeria women as force to reckon with at the global stage. Meanwhile we are using this medium to assure Nigeria young ladies that the era of intimidation and exploitation to be part of beauty contest is over. All it requires is commitment, self-confidence and trust in God. We therefore encourage our participants to believe in themselves and bring their best games on.

Final screening of contestants for Miss Grand Nigeria will hold on 1st September 2015 at Orchid Hotels, Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria, while the Grand Finale will hold on Friday September 11th, 2015 at the same venue. The winner will go home with a sum of 1 million naira, a brand new car and the right to represent Nigeria at the MGI world finals in October 2015 in Bangkok, Thailand.

We bring in, our years of outstanding experience in pageantry; I was crowned Miss Unilag 2009 and World Miss University Nigeria 2010 and then represented Nigeria at the World Miss University finals in Seoul, South Korea that same year. I was later appointed as a UN student peace emissary. We assure every stakeholder that the contest will run with high degree of professionalism and integrity.

MGN 2015 apart from providing world class entertainment for our expected physical and broadcast audiences will be a great opportunity for companies to further consolidate their position as brand Leaders in Africa. It will most certainly generate additional brand exposure and goodwill for you. The event which will attract many big names in the entertainment industry, celebrities and dignitaries, will be broadcast on radio and TV. It will also be followed worldwide online our YouTube channel, websites, the blogosphere and major radio and television station.

Meanwhile, gentlemen of the press, we want to seek your support for this noble event. Our media campaign plan is pretty extensive and ambitious, covering broadcast, print, digital and creative grassroots promotions. We shall really appreciate patronage and partnership.

The world is waiting for Nigeria to make history again by winning yet another one of the great beauty titles in the world.

We are available to answer your questions.

Finally we use the opportunity to implore the Mr. President and all the political leaders to please bring back the Chibok girls and put a permanent end to insurgency in the country. We look forward for a female President in Nigeria very soon.

Long live Miss Grand Nigeria
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria
