SSS Has Transferred Madam Marilyn Ogar To Maiduguri

This is the problem with government work. If you talk too much in a bid to show loyalty to a government, when that government is kicked out and a new one comes in, you may be in trouble. Chai!!

The changes at the Department of State Services (DSS) entered another phase during the week, with the new postings and a series of reversals of the actions of the previous leadership.

The tough-talking Marilyn Ogar, who was until recently the Deputy Director of Public Affairs of the service, has been transferred to the war zone zone, Borno State capital, Maiduguri.

But sources say the posting may be put on hold for now, following insinuations that it was “punitive.”

Ogar, as spokesperson, was responsible for defending the activities of the agency in the media and she is said to be paying for some of her pronouncements, notably in the face-off with the Bring Back Our Girls group and the raids on the Lagos office of the All Progressives Congress (APC) last year.

She has already lost her promotion, following the nullification of the recent exercise.

“Right now, she is just hanging around in Abuja, awaiting the next order,” a source at the agency said.
