Chris Brown files paternity and child custody documents for daughter

Chris Brown who has been spending so much time with his daughter Royalty, says he has had it with his baby mama Nia Guzman's child support and custody demands, so he's asking a judge to intervene.

Chris and Nia have been at war over 1-year-old Royalty for a long time now. She's demanding $15k a month in child support, but Chris Brown doesn't think it is a fair amount.

Due to this reason, he has filed legal documents in Houston to establish paternity of baby Royalty. That will give him the right to fight Nia over support and custody.

Chis who has been paying Nia $2,500  per month, believes it is a fair amount. If he ascertains that he is Royalty's father, he will then go to court to file for custody and a fair amount for child support to Nia.
He says Nia has been denying him the right to see his daughter, so he wants a judge to get involved and set guidelines for both of them

Rick Ross finally granted bail and released from jail

Rick Ross' bond hearing in Fayette County, GA wrapped up yesterday and the judge granted his lawyer's bail request and set his release once he paid a $2 million bond which Ross was able to pay.

He got $1 million equity from the ex-Holyfield mansion he owns, and another GA property, $500,000 surety bond (from a bail bondsman) and $500k in cold hard cash.

Ross' attorney also promised his client would forfeit the entire Holyfield property (which is worth $5 million) to the county ... if he does anything to obstruct justice or intimidate any witness.

Petition against me is baseless - Former governor Godswill Akpabio

Former governor of Akwa Ibom state, now a Senator, Godswill Akpabio has responded to a petition filed against him to the EFCC for abuse of public trust and alleged gross misappropriation of Akwa Ibom tax payers funds via a statement. Read below...
The immediate past governor of Akwa ibom State, Chief Godswill Obot Akpabio has described the petition of alleged corruption against him to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission as  false and baseless .
Speaking through Mr Aniekan Umanah who served him as Information and Communications Commissioner, Akpabio, who is currently in the Senate representing Akwa Ibom North East said he was responding to the petition by one Barr. Leo Ekpenyong with great sadness.

Senator Akpabio however stated that rather than condemning Ekpenyong for taking this course of action,  he is grateful to God that the petition is an opportunity to clear a lot of misconceptions and horrendous lies,  those opposed to his(Akpabio’)s emergence and leadership of the state had fed the rumour mill in Akwa Ibom State.

Senator Akpabio observed that  the petition betrays a lack of understanding of the workings of government, noting that,  every sum withdrawn from a government account is tied to a subhead and a budgetary provision, explaining that, attributing fraud to withdrawals, which had the full sanction of Government, and was accommodated in the budget is mischievous.
On amounts bandied by the petitioner as the gross earnings of Akwa Ibom under Akpabio, the former governor disputed the claims arguing that,  the idea that the Akwa Ibom State Government received over N2.5 trillion (or N3 trillion) in the eight years of his administration is an outrageous lie.

Such claim, he said would mean the state received an average of N26 billion monthly, which he faulted, harping that, Published accounts of disbursement from the Federation Accounts,  corroborate the evidence that Akwa Ibom State never received up to N26 billion in any month throughout his tenure,  adding that, in some months like April and May, 2015, Akwa Ibom State received about N8 billion only.

On the allegation of owning various houses in Abuja, Lagos and other countries,  Senator Akpabio described the allegation as false maintaining that, ownership of the said houses can be verified from Lagos State Land  Registry as well as from the land registry in Abuja respectively.

Senator Akpabio also cleared the air on owning any property in Ghana or in St. Kitts & Nevis, and  challenged  anybody to prove the contrary. Explaining that, he was invited to attend the inauguration of the current President of Ghana as a member of the Presidential delegation from Nigeria alongside many other Governors and Nigerians who were on the delegation, Akpabio disclosed that, he was also invited to attend the 30th Independence Day celebration of St. Kitts and Nevis by the then Prime Minister who visited the State on a working trip to Nigeria, and wondered how simply visiting a country could translate into owning properties there.

While dismissing allegations of picking the leadership of ALGON and owning shares in Julius Berger, Senator Akpabio said contracts awarded followed due process and charged his traducers to acknowledge his track record of performance, visible and landmark achievements in office rather than finding faults where there is none, regretting that, the opposition have, in their desperation and frustration, crossed the line of decorum, truth and decency with their torrents of propaganda and blackmail.

Outrage as Twitter reveals only 49 of its 3,000 US employees are black

Twitter only has 49 black employees out of 2,910 staff members in America. The 35 men and 14 women account for just 1.7 % of the firm's US operation, which is 93.8% white or Asian. It represents a stark lack of progress since last year, when senior executives promised to boost their number of African American staff from 2 %.
Slamming the figures, released in a compulsory Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) report on Wednesday, Rev Jesse Jackson said people are 'becoming intolerant' of the stilted progress.

'Black people are greater users of the product and capable of doing the jobs, but there has not been an adequate commitment to hire, train and maintain black people,' the civil rights leader, who is spearheading calls for diversity in tech, told
The number of Hispanic employees also fails to reflect the proportion of Latino users, and of America's Latino population.
27% of black adults use the site, and 25 % of Latinos, compared to 21 % of white users, according to the  Pew Research Center.
The Rev Jesse Jackson, president of the Rainbow/Push Coalition, who has long campaigned for tech companies to be more transparent about their lack of minority employees, told the Guardian that black people are “becoming intolerant” of Facebook and other Silicon Valley companies’ lack of progress in making their offices more diverse.
The stark lack of black employees comes despite the company’s repeated pledges to make its staff better reflect the diversity of its 302 million users and as Twitter actively exploits its large number of minority users to bring in more advertising revenue.
He said that at the moment, Twitter is benefitting from black people’s love of its medium, which often leads to black issues trending worldwide – without paying enough back to the community. “They hire people they know, they trust and like,” Jackson said. “We’re not in that the circle.”
“It appears that the tech companies seem to treat it as a public relations issue rather than addressing the actual problem. African Americans use social media more than others, the corporations continue to build and profit from that, so it is especially problematic that they do not have an employee base that in any way reflects its users. They have really failed on this.”

Despite appearing to do little to increase the diversity of its employees, Twitter is actively exploiting its large number of minority users to secure more advertising dollars. The company has appointed a “multicultural strategist”, Nuria Santamaria, tasked with helping advertisers directly target Twitter’s minority groups.

It comes a month after Rev Jackson slammed Google when figures revealed black people account for just 2 per cent of the tech giant's workforce.

El Rufai to sue over claims he declared N90bn and 40 houses as his assets

So earlier today a certain media platform, The Union, reported that Kaduna state governor, Mallam Nasir El Rufai had declared N90 billion and 40 houses in the FCT as his assets before the Code of Conduct Bureau.
"Governor Nasir ElRufai of Kaduna State has declared his asset. He is worth N90 billion. The governor’s assets declaration came as a big shock to most Kaduna residents yesterday as he allegedly declared ownership of 40 mansions, most of which are located in Abuja. Kaduna State Director Code of Conduct Bureau, George David, however, declined to comment when contacted." The Union wrote
Reacting to the publication, El-Rufai, through his media aide, described it as false and says they will be suing the publishers. Find the statement signed by the governor's media aide after the cut..

After a busy few weeks as governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai is dismayed by the blatant falsehood being practised as journalism by The Union newspapers. He has consequently directed his legal team to vigorously enforce his rights to protect his reputation from the vandalism of irresponsible hacks.
The Union chose to write a spurious story alleging N90b as his assets declaration without seeing the declaration made by Malam El Rufai.

The circle of blackmail that did the story claimed they heard a rumour, and they pursued the rumour so vigorously they transformed it into news. When some of their cohorts made contact with the governor’s media team insisting that they respond to rumour, they were told that it is better if they chose the more legitimate route of agitating for a public asset declaration.

Fair minded people who read the story will notice that it is not grounded in any evidence. It is just the animus of blackmailers who regard Malam Nasir El-Rufai as easy prey. But since his reputation is not based on purchased kudos, he cannot be compelled into accommodation with venal people masquerading as journalists.

Malam Nasir El-Rufai is a privileged Nigerian. He qualified as a chartered Quantity Surveyor early in life and became a dollar millionaire in his twenties. He is a respected leader in in his professional field but as successful as he has been in his career, he certainly has neither N90 billion nor 40 mansions.

He will not be distracted from his total focus on making Kaduna great again. In this endeavour, he will continue to be accessible to practitioners of responsible journalism.
