Forest where IPOB bury people in shallow graves found in Abia, DSS takes over

The Department of State Services, DSS, has taken over Umuanyi Forest near Aba in Abia State, where it said that about 55 unidentified shallow graves were discovered.

Not less than 55 identified persons were said to have been allegedly buried in the graves by members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB.

The DSS is accusing the members IPOB of engaging in kidnapping and extrajudicial killings.

IPOB is being led by the Director of guerilla Radio Biafra, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu, who is being prosecuted by the Federal Government for alleged treasonable felony.

The secret service further accused IPOB members of the kidnapping and killing of five Hausa-Fulani men whose remains it said were buried in the same forest.

But MASSOB, which is another pro-Biafra group, rose in defence of IPOB and dismissed the allegations by the DSS as lacking merit and evidence.

A statement issued by DSS spokesperson, Mr. Tony Opuiyo, read:
“Service has uncovered the heinous role played by members of the IPOB in the abduction/kidnap of five Hausa-Fulani residents, namely Mohammed Gainako, Ibrahim Mohammed, Idris Yakubu, and Isa Mohammed Rago at Isuikwuato LGA in Abia State.

“The abducted men were later discovered at the Umuanyi Forest, Abia State, where they were suspected to have been killed by their abductors and buried in shallow graves, amidst 50 other shallow graves of unidentified persons.

“Arrests and investigation conducted so far revealed that elements within the IPOB carried out this dastardly action.”

With this act, Opuiyo said it is pertinent to alert the general public that IPOB was showing its true divisive colour and objectives, while steadily embarking on gruesome actions in a bid to ignite ethnic terrorism and mistrust amongst non-indigenes in the South-East region and other parts of the country.

Following this act, the DSS alerted that tension was currently rife among communal stakeholders in the state, with possibilities of spillover to other parts of country.

The agency warned that it would not hesitate to act decisively within its statutory mandate to ensure that the sponsors and perpetrators of “this action are apprehended and prosecuted for their crime.”

Kanye West makes history as Life Of Pablo tops Billboard chart mainly through streaming

Kanye West made history on Sunday as the first album to reach number one in the United States mostly through streaming. His Life of Pablo album topped the Billboard chart mostly through streaming.
Kanye debuted his album The Life of Pablo in February at his Yeezy Season 3 fashion show at New York's Madison Square Garden and initially distributed it only through the Tidal streaming service.

The album earlier this month became available on rival sites such as Spotify and has been streamed so much that it appeared for the first time on the benchmark Billboard chart.
The Life Of Pablo nearly two months after its release opened at number one on the Billboard chart.
Tracking service Nielsen Service said that The Life Of Pablo sold the equivalent of 94,000 copies in the week, 70%  of which was through streaming (fastest way to get unlimited, popular music online).

Kanye West beat the previous record for the level of streaming behind a number one album which was Rihanna's. Rihanna held that title with streaming accounting for nearly a third of the sales of her Anti album.

Photos: Meet the Ghanaian monarch who works as a mechanic in Germany and rules his people via Skype

67 year old King Togbe Ngoryifia Cephas Kosi Bansah pictured at his mechanic workshop in Germany is the superior and spiritual chief of Ewe people of Gbi kingdom in Eastern Ghana. He may be a king in his country but he works as a full-time mechanic in Germany. He governs his people over Skype.

Céphas grew up in Ghana but he moved to Germany in 1970 before he was appointed king. His kingdom consists of 300,000 Ewe people. He originally moved to Germany when his grandfather, the then king, encouraged him to train there as a mechanic.

After finishing his studies and gaining full citizenship, he settled and set up his own garage in Ludwigshafen. He continued living a peaceful life until 1987 when he received a Fax which would change his life forever.

His grandfather, the King of Hohoe, had died and Bansah's father and eldest brother were deemed unfit to rule because they were left-handed, which the Ewe people considered to be 'unclean'. This meant that Céphas was his grandfather's successor, and the new king.

He now lives in Ludwigshafen with his wife Gabriele Bansah, 57 and his two children Carlo and Katharina, continuing his job as a mechanic and his role as King. He uses Skype to govern his people and still visits Ghana up to eight times per year.
