See Unique Buildings built Inside estate where 2Face lives

Lifestyle living connoisseur, Haven Homes and developers of Richmond Gate Estate, Lekki where ace musician 2Face and many other celebrities have made their abode, has completed and delivered its 2016 Designs. This was contained in a statement released recently by the company’s Assistant General Manager, Ms Ufuoma Ukueku.

The 2016 design is a further improvement on the exterior and interior of the sensational 2015 design and the latest model is already being handed over to subscribers among the firm’s current efforts at Richmond Gate Estate in Lekki.

More celebrities have continued to embrace the Haven Homes’ flagship project at Richmond Gate Estate. MTN brand ambassadors recently gathered in Richmond Gate Estate for a video shoot after the video director, Mr Sesan Ogunro came to Haven Homes and was pleased to discover an alternative serene location that is comparable to the exotic scenes in South Africa hitherto patronized for such video shoots. A scene on the shoot had ace artiste, Sound Sultan driving a truck within the premises of Richmond Gate Estate. He was working alongside a host of other superstars on music videos which are set to debut soon.

According to Ms Ukueku, there are several notable features in the latest model, and she avers that it differs from the 2015 design in that a special element known as ‘‘curve architecture’’ has been taken to a much higher level by the creation of a unique roof design that curves from the first deck to the upper roof. A curve spanning over 2 floors!

This civil engineering feat is unique on the residential landscape in Nigeria and is the first of such known. Haven Homes added that their structural engineers, Abisoye & Co. faced a huge challenge as the massive curve could have placed undue stress over the first deck cantilever but with careful weight balancing, structural strength was achieved through the use of carefully designed clay pots to keep the structure standing.

One major advantage with this design is that it’s difficult to copy by design pirates, a habit that Haven Homes has often decried over the past few years.

The internal fittings of the 2016 design also enjoyed some enhancements. The new designs are fitted with wall switches that emit pilot LED light in the dark so that their locations can be seen even in the dark eliminating groping for switch locations, in addition to having the walls being kept clean.

Furthermore, a significant 90 percent cut in energy load has been  achieved because all spot lights installed are now energy saving units that reduce each spotlight from 50watts to 5watts per bulb.
In the last ten years, Haven Homes has consistently come up with fascinating and innovative new home designs for each year, with the next design in line being the 2017 model in view  due to be delivered over the next ten months.

How NDDC Contractors Escape With N70bn – Auditor-General Makes Shocking Revelation

Mr Samuel Ukura, the Auditor-General of the Federation, made a startling revelation yesterday, on how contractors, who handled various projects of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, between 2008 and 2012, disappeared with N70 billion mobilization fees without going to site let alone, executing the projects.

Speaking through through Mr Emmanuel Akpan, an Assistant Director, Public Accounts Committee Division, in his office , at a public hearing organised by the Senate Public Accounts Committee, Ukura insisted that the commission’s projects, expected for execution were abandoned.

He added that the Auditor- General’s office, based on findings made so far, strongly believed that the total sum of the scam stood at N70,495, 993, 761, approximately, N70.4billion.

He said: “The real value of contracts upon which monies have been collected by NDDC contractors during the period under review, as at the time of auditing, was N70.4billion and not N11billion the NDDC office is claiming now.

“There is need for NDDC officials to practically prove that contractors involved in close to N60billion gap they are trying to create, have actually gone to site and executed their projects not on paper but physically on ground.”

Ukura further disclosed that not less than 1, 733 contractors were involved in the scam . But while officials from the office of the Accountant – General of the Federation concurred to the submission made by the Auditor – General over NDDC ‘s contract awards and execution from 2008 to 2012, NDDC officials led by their acting Managing Director, Ibim Semenitari , disagreed vehemently by saying that latest records available to them, indicated that N11billion worth and not N70 billion projects were affected by the contract scam.

The Commission’s Director of Finance, Jimoh Egbejule said the commission had on its own audited the various projects awarded during the period under review , and discovered that the said scam affected N11billion worth projects and not N70.4billion as reported by the Office of the Auditor- General.

The contradictory submissions made forced the committee, through its Chairman, Senator Andy Uba ,PDP, Anambra South, to adjourn the sitting for a month.

Fuming over the development, Uba said: “There is need to stop this public hearing abruptly so as to allow the three parties time to sit down and harmonize their findings and reports on the subject matter.

“Definitely this committee is not satisfied with what has happened but we have to give them time to meet and harmonize whatever they can harmonize before coming back to us to present their updated reports upon which we can now do the proper probings without one agency saying, it doesn’t have the reports the other is presenting and so on and so fort.

“Unfortunately, the new MD did not know anything, she didn’t understand what was going on.They didn’t carry her along but I am glad that she’s willing to work, she’s ready to go through it with a fine toothcomb line by line with the auditor general and accountant general’s queries to make sure that there is prompt response to the queries.

"But I am glad that today, in one months time, am sure we would know the truth about the whole differences”.

The new NDDC boss, Ibim Semenitari on her part, promised to go over the records properly within the one month duration given, with a view to later presenting before it, the truth and nothing but the truth about the alleged contract scam.

She said: ‘We would respond in all honesty with all of the documentations before us but like I said they might have been some errors here and there because they didn’t see all of the documentation. Its too early to decide what it might be am sure by the time they respond fully we would be able to show Nigerians facts as they are.

“Again like I told you we would not shield any contractor who hasn’t done his job, we would not shield anyone who has to be indicted this is a new administration and we are committed to transparency”

Robert Mugabe proposes "castration" for monsters who rape children

President Robert Mugabe has come up with a solution to the growing rate of rape and child abuse cases. He said that castration of rapists and child abusers is the best way to stem the vice. The Zimbabwean president reportedly made this known while speaking during his 92nd birthday celebrations at the Great Zimbabwe Monuments on Saturday, February 26.

Mugabe said he was confused by people who abuse minors.
"What sex impulse is it which gets one to abuse a little child? I wonder what enough punishment for such people is," he said. "Can you suggest how such brutal monsters amongst us that rape babies should be punished … burdizzo (castration device) We should make them oxen, some people should be made oxen."
However, Mugabe noted that the government is going to attract the wrath of human rights defenders if it were to go ahead with such a plan.
"Again, human rights people will say it (castration) is too severe. Sharia Law says if you use your hand to steal, that hand must be cut off. Now you use what to abuse the child? I think that which you use should be cut off. They will go and get an artificial one (I)think," he said, amid laughter and applause from the thousands of villagers who braved the light showers that characterised the event.
The proposal seemed to get the backing of Vice-President Phelekezela Mphoko and Women’s Affairs minister Nyasha Chikwinya, Zimbabwe Southern Eye reports.

14 year old abducted Ese Oruru allegedly 5 months pregnant

Ese Rita Oruru, the 14 year old girl from Bayelsa state who was abducted by Yinusa Dahiru, alias Yellow may be about 5 months pregnant, according to Vanguard.

The white Hijab she wore when she arrived on Tuesday, was used to disguise the alleged pregnancy. Her pregnant condition was what made the IGP, Solomon Arase to give instructions to fly her to by air after she was rescued, rather than by road.

This was after she had been handed over to the Gender and Child Protection Unit where a team from the Medical Department of the Force carried out a comprehensive medical examination of her at the Police Medical Facility in Area 1, Garki and confirmed her pregnancy.

Meanwhile, the IGP has directed the Bayelsa State Police Command to take over investigation in the child violence offense saga because the offense was committed in Bayelsa which is the place of residence of the abductor, Yunusa Dahiru.

Consequently, Vanguard was told that Yunusa will be moved to Yenegoa to face interrogation and prosecution for kidnapping and child abuse as well as violence against a girl-child.

Photos: Lawyer accuses Nyesom Wike of spending N300million on bulletproof luxury buses

Lawyer and President-General of Save Rivers Movement, Charles Aholu, has accused Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, of spending N300 million to purchase two bulletproof 'mobile offices', a picture of the mobile office above. Aholu made the allegations in a Facebook post on Monday February 29th. Wike has not reacted to the allegation. Read what Charles Aholu wrote after the cut...

YOUR EXCELLENCY, WHAT IS THE COST OF YOUR LATEST SWAG?
Dear Sir,
I write you this letter as a concerned indigene of our beloved Rivers State. I did not set out to write because like other eletronic vuvuzelas, I desire to scout for cheap popularity. Trust me, my intentions are quite noble. I may be unable to unlace your sandals, but I am sure that I can draw your attention to those matters which merits your commendation and condemnation, so that your appetite for princely robes, real estates, automiles and bank-breaking acholic beverages can be put in check.
Please sir, don't be mad at me for revealing the golden nature of your taste. It is not in doubt that you are a man with a grand appetite for grandeur. that is not a secret at all. From your acquisition of choiced properties during your reign as Chief of staff to your former boss now turned enemy, to your accession to the laudable comforts of porsh automobiles, you have displayed an affection for luxury worthy of emulation by aspiring politicians who see you as a role model.

But my worry sir, is that you have decided not to put your taste for these automobiles in check. I recently heard that you acquired two bullet proof mobile offices reportedly worth three Hundred million naira (N300, 000, 000. 00).
If my records serve me right, you are the first governor to have purchased these luxury mobile offices in Nigeria. I know that by this purchase, you have shot Rivers State into the exclusive class of States in the world with a world class throttling office good enough to feed several families and for which great operational expenses would be incured. Bravo sir! Your swagger and 'prudence' are worthy of emulation.
What defies wonder is that you chose to buy two (2) of these sexy automobiles at a period of auterity and great economic strain when your government has for the same reason, discontinued the Rivers State Oversea Scholarship for want of funds. That you chose to purchase these offices at a period when salaries are yet to be paid and when the dollar is sky-high for want of local investment is a testimonial of your 'frugality and great economic marks-manship. You are indeed a modern wonder!
Please sir, permit me to ask you just one or two questions. What is the cost of this your recent swag? I hope the amount will not be eshrouded in mystery? I hope it will not suffer the Same fate as the 2016 Appropriation Bill which has remained a privately classified document?
Let me congratulate you once again for inflicting your kingly taste on the good people of Rivers State. You have proven yourself a good son worthy of emulation and have broken every record of economic frugality in an era of austerity.
Please accept my warmest regards!
Yours Sincerely,
Aholu Charles C.
