I’m not afraid of Lucky Igbinedion’s father - Oshiomhole

Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomole says he is not afraid of the billionaire father of his predecessor, Lucky Igbinedion, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion whom he has accused of conniving with his son to loot the state of its resources and exploiting residents of the state while his son was governor.

Oshiomhole said this while speaking with some Edo women who staged a protest in support of his administration yesterday November 23rd.

Oshiomhole said he will publish the documents of Lucky Igbinedion while he was in office. He added that he would be ashamed to talk in public if two of his children were convicted for corruption and money laundering.

The women on their part carried placards with captions such as “Esama leave Oshiomhole alone.” “Chief Igbinedion stop using youths and women to cause trouble,” “Edo people must move forward,” “Oshiomhole, Edo people are proud of you” and “Igbinedion, go and pay Land Use charge.”.

Turkey shoots down Russian warplane on Syrian border

Turkey has shot down a Russian warplane on the Syrian border, a senior Turkish official has said. According to Al Jazeerah, the plane was shut down on Syrian territory in Latakia's Yamadi village.

The plane was downed by the Turkish military according to the rules of engagement because it violated Turkish airspace, the Turkish official said.

The Turkish president's office identified the plane as Russian and said it was warned before being shot down, according to semi-official Anadolou agency.

A Turkish military statement said that the plane violated Turkish air space in the Hatay province and was warned 'ten times in five minutes'. "Our two F-16 planes on air patrol duty intervened in the plane in question on November 24, 2015, 9:24am, according to the rules of engagement," the statement said.

The Russian defence ministry said that an SU-24 fighter jet crashed in Syria as a result of an attack from the ground. "A probe is in progress into the circumstances of the Russian plane crash," the ministry was quoted as saying by the TASS Russian News Agency, adding that the plane had stayed within Syrian airspace. Objective monitoring data confirm this.".

Godswill Akpabio Runs to Lai Mohammed, Begs for Cover

When I saw this I laughed hard because the story is too funny to believe. A source said the former governor, Godswill Akpabio, met Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, and begged for cover:
"We are now interested in joining APC. Tell Mr. President that Akwa Ibom State is now ready to play national politics. I regret my actions while in office as the Governor," Akpabio was quoted as saying. This sounds like propaganda but don't trust a politician.
