PDP LEADERS FIGHT BACK

The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, all governors elected on the party's platform and other stakeholders have agreed to an emergency meeting to, according to a source, "fight back" what was described as the plot by the APC federal government to take over some rich states from them.

Especially in Rivers State, with the two judgments from the Tribunal, it is very likely President Muhammadu Buhari will appoint a Sole Administrator for Rivers State as acting governor at the end of the cases in the Appeal Court and Supreme Court.

The governor of the State, Nyesom Wike, the Speaker of the House of Assembly and 20 other members of the Assembly have been sacked because their elections did not meet the requirement of the law.

If this scenario stand at the Appeal Court and Supreme Court, the House of Assemby can't form a quorum and there will be no legislature, hence the ground will be set for Buhari to appoint an Administrator who will be governor of the state and supervise the re-run election.

PDP sure needs to fight back, because there will be no room for rigging and writing results this time. Lol!

Revealed: Most illegal arms in South East are produced locally

Presidential Committee on Small Arms and Light Weapons, PRESCOM, stakeholders’ sensitization forum, which held at Enugu for South East zone, has revealed that about 60 per cent of the illegal arms in the zone are produced locally.

Professor Aloysius Okolie, South East coordinator on House Survey of PRESCOM, made the revelation during a two-day stakeholders’ sensitization forum on the comprehensive survey.
His words: “some communities are known for their natural fabrication of arms... 40 per cent of the arms are imported by the political leaders and the rest 60 per cent fabricated within the zone.”
“The essence of the survey is not for the government to embark on disarmament, but to find out those factors that motivate people into acquiring such arms and sources of the arms.”

Say what? Dynamo Kiev stadium manager proposes 'black sector' for black fans in order to combat racism

See what someone is proposing in 2015. Volodimir Spilchenko, the director of Dynamo Kiev's (arguably Ukraine's biggest club) home ground, says that having black fans segregated from other supporters could prevent racism.

About four black men were reportedly attacked and racially abused last week during a home game against Chelsea in the champions league,a situation that has become the norm in that part of the world and UEFA will decide on what disciplinary sanctions to take against Dynamo on Tuesday after the shocking footage was released.

'We are trying, maybe, to make a special sector (for black fans),' Spilchenko said, 'In order to avoid the manifestation of racism.'

The notion was suggested to the club by a journalist, but Spilchenko labelled it a 'good idea' and said: 'We'll probably listen to your offer,' in an interview reported by the Washington Post.

But after the incident against Chelsea, Ukraine Football Federation vice-president Ohor Kochetov denied that there was a problem with racism at the Olimpiyskiy Stadium and questioned the motives of the black men who were in that particular section of the stadium.

Kochetov told the Ukrainian news portal Vesti: '[The presence of the black fans] in the sector that is always occupied by the "Rodychi" ultras is highly surprising to everyone.
'People of that category (black people) have never been there. Initial information indicates that these people were without tickets and were holding flares.

'Maybe this was a specially planned provocation. These are all questions that require answers'

The night before the game in Kiev, Chelsea fans were attacked by around 70 balaclava-clad Dynamo thugs in the city centre with at least one English supporter being hospitalised.

I remain the state governor - Wike says in state broadcast

Nyesom Wike whose election was nullified by the Rivers state petition tribunal yesterday October 24th, has addressed the state in a broadcast. He said irrespective of the tribunal's verdict, he still remains governor of the state. He reaffirmed his position to appeal the Tribunal's decision. Read the full text of his broadcast after the cut.

1. My dear people of Rivers State
It is with a profound sense of concern and responsibility that I address you over the judgment of the Rivers State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal delivered on Saturday, October 24, 2015, purportedly nullifying my election and return as the duly and lawfully elected Governor of our State.
2. We all know that on April 11, 2015, Rivers people in their millions joined the rest of the country and enthusiastically participated in electing their Governor and members of the State House of Assembly.
3. Apart from the reported malfunctioning of the card readers supplied by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which placed no advantage on any of the contestants, the election took place throughout the State and was adjudged both by local and international observers to be largely peaceful, transparent, free, fair and credible.
4. Following the success of the election, I was returned as duly and lawfully elected by the INEC, having satisfied all the necessary legal requirements.
5. However, following the petitions by my friend, the APC gubernatorial candidate and his party, and despite the woeful failure of the Petitioners to discharge the burden of proof with respect to their contradictory, wild and false allegations against the conduct of the election, the State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal nullified my election on the basis of INEC’s alleged infraction of its administrative guidelines on the use of card readers.
6. It is common knowledge that INEC’s card readers malfunctioned throughout the country in the 2015 general elections. It is also common knowledge that
