CONFIRMED: Thursday September 24 Is Eid-el-Kabir (Sallah)

The Saudi Arabian Moon Sighting Committee has announced a new date for Arafat. Though September 22 was earlier fixed for the Yaomul Arafat (Arafat Day) and September 23 for the Eid-il-adha (Day of Sacrifice) a notice on Sunday night by the Saudi Arabia Judiciary said the expected moon of the Month of Dhul-Hijja 1435 was not sighted last night (Sunday), hence the month of Dhul- Qadha will be counted to be 30.

This means that the month of Dhul-Hijja will commence on Tuesday 15 September, 2015.

This development means that the Day of Arafat is shifted from September 22 to September 23 and the Day of Sacrifice (Eid-El- Kabir) will now be September 24. Sallah is now September 24.

Photo: Meet this 64-year-old virgin

Ngipheni from KwaMafunze in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa is a virgin at 64. She had to remain a virgin because that was the only way to participate in reed dance, a yearly dance/cultural activity for their king, Goodwill Zwelithini’s called umkhosi womhlanga. She has been part of the reed dance since she was a teenager.
"Before we go to the ceremony, our guardians test us to make sure that we are still virgins. This is because the ceremony is only for virgins," she said.
Although still a virgin, Ngipheni said she has longed for sex before. "The only way I could deal with the longing was by remembering my parents’ advice. Longing for sex is natural if you are a human being."

She said during her younger days, she used to have many boys proposing love to her. "I wanted to remain innocent so I turned them down." Ngipheni also revealed that she had a boyfriend once who later became her fiance.
"In our days our fiances never rushed us into having sex. They respected us. I separated with my fiance because he cheated"
Ngipheni added that she was happy that she’s safe from sexually transmitted diseases. She stresses that she is not saying young women should stay away from sex and marriage. "If you have sex do it responsibly. Do it after marriage. Once you are married, ask your partner to go for an HIV test before you engage in sex. This will reduce the number of people with HIV and teenage pregnancy."

Ngipheni’s guardian, Zithobile Mbhele, said she has been working with her for more than 30 years. "She is a good influence on young women in the area. We are proud of her. She has never missed umkhosi womhlanga"” said Zithobile.

I’m Proud To Be A Sex Symbol – Victoria Kimani

Rough girl Victoria Kimani has come to Nigerian music industry to stay. With her current single - Show - now rocking Nigerian airwaves, the singer said she is unapologetic about being a s*x symbol.
In a chat with Saturday Beats, she said: “I don’t think it is a bad thing to be a s*x symbol. My feminist side is very proud of being a s*x symbol. I should not apologise for being s*xy. I try my best to be myself, I express myself in the best way I can so if people see me and say that I am selling s*x or the idea of s*x, I think it is the person’s problem and not mine.”
Check out more of her pictures below...

Has AIG Mbu Joseph Mbu Left Nigeria Police Quietly?

The Nigeria Police Force headquarters said on Friday that the controversial former Commissioner of Police in Rivers State and now Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Mbu Joseph Mbu, is still in service since his redeployment to Plateau State.

Force Public Relations Officer, Olabisi Kolawole, stated this following the claim by some activists that Mbu’s quietness betrayed his controversial bearing, wondering if he was still in the Force.

She said in a text message on the inquiry, "He is still with the Force; posted to the Police Staff College, Jos, Plateau State, as Commandant."

But a popular legal practitioner, Mr. Jiti Ogunye, had noted that it was unlike
for the police officer to keep away from the limelight. He said, "One is tempted to conclude that Mbu has left the Force because of his penchant for unguarded public utterances. It is not like him to keep quiet for so long. He is known to speak even more than the spokesperson of the Force. This made us to wonder if he is still in service."

Besides, a former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Ikeja branch, Mr. Monday Ubani, said the change of leadership in the country could be responsible for the quiet nature of Mbu.

Mbu was at loggerheads with the then governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, when he was serving as the CP in the state.

Upon his redeployment to the Federal Capital Territory as CP in 2014, Mbu described himself as the lion who tamed ‘the leopard of Port Harcourt’ apparently referring to Amaechi.

While serving as CP in the FCT, he banned the #BringBackOurGirls group from holding street protests but the then IG, Mohammed Abubakar, overruled the directive immediately.

While he was redeployed to Lagos to oversee the 2015 general elections, he threatened to kill 10 persons for any policeman killed in the line of duty.

Buhari applauds armed forces resolve to speedily end insurgency, warns that Human rights violation will be punished

Press statement from the presidency
President Muhammadu Buhari Saturday in Kaduna reaffirmed his administration’s total commitment to the rule of law and warned that proven acts of human rights violation by the Armed Forces will be punished under his leadership. Addressing officers, troops and newly commissioned cadets at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), President Buhari reminded them that the rule of law applied to the Armed Forces as much as any other institution in the country.
“I wish to remind you of the Federal Government’s commitment to overhaul the rules of engagement and improve operational and legal mechanisms so that disciplinary steps are taken against proven human rights violations by the armed forces. We are committed to a thorough investigation of recent and any future occurrences of human rights violations by elements of our Armed Forces. While I applaud the integrity and sterling record of the Armed Forces as an institution, this administration will insist on the rule of law, and deal with any proven cases of deviation from laws of armed conflict, including human rights abuses. In operational conduct Nigerians expect our Armed Forces to keep law and order, and not to behave like bullies. Let me reiterate this administration’s commitment to due process, merit and total observance of the rule of law as central pillars of a prosperous and democratic society. Rule of law as an element of good governance applies to the Armed Forces as much as any institution in our country. It is therefore gratifying that all three Services have recently taken steps to emphasize strict adherence to rules in recruitment, promotions, procurement, project executions and civil-military relations,” the President said at the passing out of Officer Cadets of the NDA’s 62 Regular Course and Short Service Course 43.

Observing that security remains the most important challenge in his Administration’s “Change” Programme, President Buhari said that the nation expects exemplary conduct and professionalism from officers and men of its Armed Forces at all times and in all situations.
“The objectives our fight against terrorism cannot be realized without a credible and effective military. You must avoid any behavior that will tarnish your honour and dignity as commissioned officers. Your commitment and loyalty to the Armed Forces and the nation must be total. I urge you to take your roles in the on-going process of rebuilding our Armed Forces very seriously,” President Buhari told the newly-commissioned officers.

Declaring that the Federal Government was pleased with the Armed Forces’ resolve to end the insurgency facing the country once and for all, President Buhari assured them of his Administration’s determination to ensure the speedy provision of platforms and equipment they require to win the war against terrorism and meet their long term needs.
