Indian sister sentenced to rape after brother ran off with a married woman reveals her terrifying ordeal

One of two sisters sentenced to be raped in India after their brother ran off with a married woman from a higher caste has spoken out about her fear.

Meenakshi Kumari, 23, has described how she has been unable to sleep or leave the house for fear of the village elders - who sentenced her and her 15-year-old sister to rape – sending someone to deliver the punishment.

"I can’t sleep, I’m very scared. How will we ever return home or to our village? If we ever return they will harm us or rape us. If not today then in the future. ’ she said from a secret location in Delhi, 30 miles from their village Sankrot, in Uttar Pradesh, India.
'Jats never forget and they will not forget this humiliation. They want their revenge. Loving someone is not wrong.’

Meenakshi and her little sister were with their family in Delhi for a wedding when a neighbour called and told them not to return to their village.

The neighbour warned that the un-elected village council, Khap panchayat, dominated by the upper caste 'Jat' men, had ordered the two sisters be raped and paraded naked with their faces blackened as punishment for their brother's actions.

Their brother, Ravi Kumar, 25, from the Dalit caste - historically known as 'untouchables' - had been in a relationship with 21-year-old Krishna from the Jat caste for almost two years.
When both families discovered the relationship, they did all they could to keep the two lovers apart.
The siblings' older brother Sumit Kumar, 28, who works as a constable in the Delhi Police, told his younger brother to end the relationship immediately, as they would never be together.

'We belong to a lower caste, they are from an upper caste,' he said.
'I told him this relationship could never work. We are treated as untouchables but he didn't listen to me and now we are paying for it.'
Ravi met Krishna two years ago, when she joined his computer classes for children in Khekada, Uttar Pradesh.

They exchanged phone numbers and quickly fell in love. They were on the phone to each other all the time and arranged covert meetings in secret locations.
But when Ravi's father Naik Dharampal Singh, 52, heard of the relationship he ordered it to end immediately.

Even though Ravi ended the relationship, the pair couldn't bear to be apart.
Eventually Krishna's parents started looking for prospective husbands for her but she refused.

‘It was hard for my brother but he understood the situation,’ Sumit said.
‘Her family knew about their relationship before the marriage. They beat their daughter a lot and gave my brother warnings many times.
'In the end my brother told her to go ahead with the marriage, she had to. She went ahead with the marriage in Haryana but she was very unhappy. They treated her like a maid.
'So she left and returned home. And that’s when she and my brother started their relationship again.’
Ravi and Krishna had eloped twice before but had returned. Each time Sumit claimed her family beat her.
We made him understand it was dangerous. At the end of the day it’d be our family who would suffer. He understood what he was doing, he knew the risks but love took over.

'When the girl got in touch with him he just couldn’t contain his emotions. We are now helpless. His future is ruined completely and our family is in danger.’
Krishna’s family was so furious that the couple had eloped again they told the police Ravi was involved with drugs. When they were caught in Delhi at the end of May, Ravi was arrested and has been in Meerut Jail ever since.

Meenakshi and her family were already in Delhi when a neighbour called them to tell them it’s not safe to return to their village called Baghpat, in Uttar Pradesh, 30 miles from Delhi. It has approximately 250 Dalits compared to 7,000 Jats.

Meenakshi said: ‘My father got a call from a neighbour and told us not to come back. They said that the Khap panchayat – that are all Jats - took the decision to rape my sister and me and parade us naked. They want revenge.

‘It is wrong. We did nothing wrong so why should my sister and me be punished. They loved each other and it is they who decided to go. Why should we suffer?
'We have not left the house, as we are scared they might send someone to attack us. I am finding it very difficult to cope. I am very scared.
'People today are still living in the caste system; it’s the root of everything here. Right now I do not have any hopes, our future is ruined.’

Mom busts babysitter with pornographic material featuring her 2-year-old daughter

A horrified mommy busted her 51-year-old babysitter with pornographic material featuring her helpless little girl.
Daniel Boyd Divit from Mesa, Ariz., has been accused of taking explicit videos and photos and performing illicit sex acts on a 2-year-old, police said.
The mother of the alleged victim found the sickening footage on Divit’s cellphone on Sunday and immediately reported the discovery to the authorities.

Divit was arrested Monday evening near University and Country Club Drives, court records showed.

In the videos, an unidentified person is captured performing a sexual act on a child who appeared to be the woman’s daughter. A pillow on the couch seen in the footage was identical to the one at the woman’s home, police said.

The recordings were time-stamped for Saturday, July 18. Both Divit and the girl’s mother affirmed he was babysitting that day.

Investigators obtained a warrant to search the creep’s phone, and said they uncovered 12 more disturbing photos and videos featuring the same victim’s genitals and depicting the same sexual acts, court records said.

Police said the victim was in visible pain.

The additional videos were dated during two Saturdays in August when the girl’s mother was at work.

Results of a forensic examination showed the child’s injuries were consistent with the acts seen on the video, authorities said.
In an interview, the little girl pointed the blame at Divit, court records said.

Divit acknowledged that he was in possession of the incriminating photos and videos, but said he could not remember being present when they were made, authorities said.

Divit is locked up after he was denied bail due to the heinous nature of his alleged crime.

He is expected to be charged with 12 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and seven counts of sexual conduct with a minor, police said.

He made his first appearance in court on Aug. 18.

Jonathan’s Ministers Send Warning Letter To Buhari

Some ministers who served under Goodluck Jonathan have warned President Muhammadu Buhari to give the former president his “due respect” henceforth.

The former ministers said they had observed that the Buhari administration and members of the APC had been condemning, ridiculing and undermining the efforts of the Jonathan administration.

Jonathan’s ministers said both the President and his party had also been rubbishing the integrity of some of the individuals who worked with Jonathan in his administration.

A former Minister of National Planning, Dr. Abubakar Suleiman, said this on Sunday in a statement on behalf of other ministers who served under Jonathan.

Suleiman said the efforts of the Buhari government had been to portray all members of the Jonathan administration “as corrupt and irresponsible, in an orchestrated and vicious trial by the media,” which he said had created “a lynch mentality that discredits our honest contributions to the growth and development of our beloved nation.”

He said while he and his colleagues believed that each administration had the right to chart its own path, the alleged vilification of the Jonathan administration was ill-intentioned.

But the Presidency, while reacting to the Jonathan’s minsters’ statement, on Sunday said Buhari’s war against corruption was not negotiable.

“President Buhari will not be deterred or blackmailed into retreat and surrender.”

Pastor Chased from Church in Lagos for Impregnating Member

File photo.
There was commotion on Sunday at the United Methodist Church, Mafoluku, in the Oshodi area of Lagos as members of the church chased away their pastor for allegedly impregnating his housemaid.

It was learnt that the pastor, Barkuma Andrew, was stopped from leading the church seven months ago when the housemaid, Grace, who was a member of the church, had complications after an abortion.

Andrew had lived with his wife, children, wife’s cousin, Favour, and Grace in a three-bedroomed flat on the church premises before the incident.

It was gathered that the members had petitioned the Central Conference of the church in Taraba State to with immediate effect investigate the shameful act.

They sought for another pastor three weeks ago when the district reportedly failed to probe Andrew.

At 10 am on Sunday, members of the church showed up for Sunday service only to see that Andrew and some “unknown” people had commenced the service.

This angered the congregation which proceeded to chase out Andrew and his group from the church.

Men from the Makinde Police Division, including the DPO, were said to have intervened after the incident was reported at the station.

A member of the church and a former secretary to Andrew, Moses Sherima, said that the pastor sent his wife to her village after he impregnated Grace.

He said: “My room is opposite pastor’s apartment and I was his secretary. When he started dating that girl (Grace), I called his wife’s cousin, Favour, on the matter. She said Grace used to tell her whenever the pastor had s*x with her.

“At a point, I had to move upstairs when I could no longer bear it. The day that abortion happened, I was sleeping inside my room when I heard Grace screaming. I rushed there and saw blood coming out from her private parts. When the wife came back from one of her numerous journeys, he told her to send Favour away.”

Another church member, John Komboroh, said the church was embarrassed by Andrew’s conduct, adding that they were tired of his leadership.

He said: “The petition of adultery against the pastor had been sent to the bishop at the Central Conference. He came here, but did not do anything about it. That was why we wrote to the main body, the Southern Conference to give us another pastor. His (Andrew’s) action is an embarrassment to us. We don’t want him again.”

The new pastor of the church, Reverend James Sunday, said: “We were about to start our service this morning when we met the old pastor and some unknown people already holding the service. I calmed down my people to avoid chaos.”

America Has Released The Names of Big Thieves to Buhari

Contrary to counter claims in some quarters that the US government was in possession of documents indicting top aides of Goodluck Jonathan, indications have emerged that President Muhammadu Buhari has, in fact, been handed shocking documents relating to monumental stealing of ministers and others.

It was learnt that the intervention of some individuals, including some African leaders, tended to suggest to Buhari that he needed to give his predecessor soft landing; and indeed, the President had agreed but on the condition that the aides and ministers who looted the treasury must return the funds.

It was with a view to avoiding what a very credible source described as a public embarrassment for the former leader, that Jonathan visited Buhari earlier in the month to beg for his understanding.

“The President advised Jonathan to prevail on his aides and ministers to return all the money they looted to enable him have access to funds with which to restructure and develop Nigeria for the good of everybody. But President Buhari became angry when Jonathan’s men became adamant."

“Most of Jonathan’s men would have been arrested by now, but the President was being mindful of the nation’s democracy and, therefore, decided to pursue the matter in a civil manner. In fact, it was for this reason that the National Economic Council, NEC, decided to set up a special committee to ascertain the areas concerned and deal with it,” a presidency source told Vanguard.

It was due to the documents exposing stealings that Buhari recently urge lawyers not to cover corrupt men.

Buhari is a Northern President - Fayose

Press statement from the Ekiti state governor
Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has said President Mohammadu Buhari was operating as a president of the Northern Nigeria only, describing steps taken by the president since May 29, 2015 as tainted in ethnic and tribal colouration, which is inimical to the unity of Nigeria.

The governor, who descried what he called President Buhari’s “Nothernisation of Nigeria,” said “appointments made by the President so far negate the principle of federal character and it appears the unity in diversity of Nigeria is being taken for granted by the President.”

According to a statement issued on Monday, by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose said it was wrong for President Buhari to have made 31 major appointments and only seven will come from the South while 24 were from the North.

He asked; “Under Buhari, are people from Southern Nigeria only meant to be hounded and harassed by anti-corruption agencies and the Department of State Security (DSS) while those from the North are meant to enjoy federal government juicy appointments?”

The governor said “apart from lopsided appointments being made by the President, I am worried that construction of Lagos-Ibadan expressway has been slowed down while work has stopped on Lokoja-Abuja roads, which are the major roads linking the Southern part of Nigeria with the North.

“Also, we have been told by the Federal Government that the Second Niger Bridge project has been suspended and one is now beginning to remember how Buhari cancelled the Lagos Metroline Project in 1985 at a loss of over $78 million (then) to the Lagos tax payers.”

Governor Fayose, who maintained that Nigeria can only move forward if there was equity and fairness, said those who made the country’s constitution and enshrined the principle of Federal Character were mindful of the ethnic diversity of the country, adding that President Buhari’s running Nigeria as if he was a Northern Nigeria’s President was not in the interest of the country.

“They said the President made the appointments on merit and I wish to ask whether there are no competent people in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Southern part of Nigeria, especially South-East where no one has been appointed.

“Are they saying Igbo leader like Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, who graduated with a first class honours degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Lagos, is not competent to be appointed as Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF)?

“To my mind, these lopsided appointments skewed in favour of the North is a reminder of President Buhari’s tenure as Military Head of State and I hope the President is not seeing Nigeria of today as that of 1984 because doing so will mean that he has turned himself to a northern president, thereby justifying his notion that those who gave him 97 percent votes must get more benefits than those who gave him five percent votes.”
