Abike Dabiri-Erewa Sues Diamond Bank & Punch for Erroneously Listing Her as a Debtor

Former lawmaker, Abike Dabiri-Erewa is suing Diamond Bank and Punch for libel after they listed her as a debtor.

Both organisations falsely accused her of owing N22 million, Channels reports.

Diamond Bank on August 4th, published a report that contained her picture, and stated that she is a Director of Thriller Endeavors, a company she says she has never heard of.

Speaking on the situation, Dabiri-Erewa said:

“It cost me irreparable damage, it has totally embarassed me, i found it very very shocking and i just feel that the best thing to do is to seek legal redress in court.

My lawyers are demanding for N500 million compensation from Diamond Bank and from The Punch Newspaper for doing that,” she said.

Ondo State has been announced as the hosting state of the 2015 Best of Nollywood Awards.

The announcement was made a couple of days ago as the Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko hosted several Nollywood faces like Segun Arinze, Yomi Fash Lanso, Fathia Balogun, Ngozi Nwosu, Alex Ekubo, Ebube Nwagbo, Toyosi Adesanya and Amanda Ebeye.

Speaking about the upcoming event, Gov. Mimiko mentioned that “On behalf of the good people of Ondo State and me, we are set to host the Best of Nollywood Awards this year. We will give spirit and soul to the awards ceremony because it would be held in the best and only international events centre in Nigeria. Our new Dome would make the Expo Centre in Lagos look like a village kitchen.”

Julius Agwu Plans Big for London ‘Crack Ya Ribs’ 10th Anniversary | Sunday, August 30th 2015

• • Ace comedian Julius Agwu will be staging the 10th anniversary of his annual comedy show, Crack Ya Ribs at the Hackney Empire in London on Sunday August 30th, 2015.

    He also has plans for an anniversary tour set to start in Aberdeen on August 22nd, 2015 at The Beach Ball Room.

    The ‘Crack Ya Ribs’ concert will feature performances from top rated entertainers like Okey Bakassi, I Go Dye, Korede Bello, Kojo, AY, Seyi Brown, Oyinbo Princess, among others.

    The comedian, who recently survived brain surgery, will start the show with praise and worship.

    Speaking ahead of this year’s show, Julius said the 10th anniversary of the event is a confirmation of God’s faithfulness and grace over the years. He added that his choice of Korede Bello as the focal musical act of the event is because God miraculously healed him and that could be only interpreted in Korede’s latest hit, God Win.

    He stated, “In the last one decade, we have been staging Crack Ya Ribs show in London to the delights of the people and built great followership. Aside being the first Nigerian entertainer to stage such shows in London, we have stayed committed to the cause of laundering Nigeria’s image with it positively and consistently in the last 10 years. Like I always say, entertainment still remains the only way to promote the country’s image positively around the world due to the immense attention we are currently receiving”.

Bobbi Kristina's family accuse Nick Gordon of drugging and putting her 'face down' in the bathtub

The lawyer says at 6 AM on January 31st -- hours before Bobbi Kristina was found face down in the tub -- Nick Gordon came home from an all-night cocaine and alcohol bender. The suit claims he reviewed camera footage and became irate.

The suit says Gordon began screaming at Bobbi Kristina, accusing her of cheating and calling her a "whore and bitch.". Their argument then went from room to room, and at some point the suit claims Gordon gave Bobbi Kristina a "toxic cocktail" that rendered her unconscious.

The lawyer then says Gordon dragged Bobbi Kristina to the bathroom where he placed her face down in a tub filled with cold water.

According to the docs, Gordon got in bed, put his head on a female guest's ankle and said, "Now I want a pretty little white girl like you."

Fifteen minutes later the suit says another person (presumably Max Lomas) discovered Bobbi Kristina in the tub.

The suit also says when Bobbi Kristina was pulled from the tub, one of her teeth was hanging loosely from her mouth, indicating she had been injured.

And this is odd ... the suit says authorities found a dust pan at the bottom of the tub.

Photos: Powerful typhoon hits Taiwan. 6 dead, over a 100 seriously injured

At least six people have been confirmed dead, four missing and over sixty seriously injured when Typhoon Soudelor hit Taiwan early this morning Saturday August 8th. Taiwan Power, the island's main power company, said 2.94 million households are currently without power. Hundreds of flights have been delayed or cancelled, according to Taiwan authorities.

Thousands of people were evacuated as the storm approached and the island's military put tens of thousands of troops and thousands of vehicles on stand-by for rescue operations.

The storm made landfall early in the morning on the island's east-coast counties of Yilan and Hualien, bringing up to 1,000 mm (39 inches) of rain in mountainous northeastern areas and wind gusting up to 200 kph (124mph). Typhoon Soudelor is expected to cross the Taiwan Strait and hit the Chinese province of Fujian late today. Some photos below...
