Director General of the DSS, Lawal Daura is an APC member - PDP
Press statement from the PDP...
The NWC notes that this unfortunate development has been the case since the appointment of the new Director General of the DSS, Alhaji Lawal Musa Daura, whom we learnt was a critical intelligence stakeholder of the APC as a card-carrying member of that party during the campaigns. This is ungodly and unacceptable.
We do hope that in his new job, the Director General of DSS is not mixing issues on the APC presidential candidate and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, hence the need for Mr. President to rein him in as the development is capable of eroding the cherished independence of the judiciary and the electoral commission, a sine qua non for a virile democracy, which guarantees our unity and stability as a nation.
Similarly, we urge Mr. President to take a critical look at the issue of the appointment of Mrs. Amina Zakari as Acting Chairman of INEC for which our party has severally raised some salient issues why she is not suitable for that position. It is incontrovertible that Mrs. Zakari by virtue of her blood relationship with Mr. President cannot preside over the affairs of an Independent National Electoral Commission.
Nigeria belongs to all of us irrespective of political, religious and ethnic affiliation and as a responsible political party we shall not fold our hands and watch while our nation drift along dangerous line.
Furthermore, the NWC commends and congratulates the PDP caucuses in the Senate and the House of Representatives on the smooth emergence of the Minority leadership in the National Assembly. We note that the process was without any interferences whatsoever from the leadership of our great party in keeping with the dictates of the independence of the legislature.
Finally, the NWC deliberated on the state of the party in Ekiti State and resolved that it only recognizes the state Exco led by Chief Idowu Faleye. The NWC however summons all critical stakeholders in the party administration in Ekiti State to a meeting with the national leadership on the issues in the state chapter.

Acting National Chairman
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at its meeting today thoroughly considered a number of very important issues pertaining to the state of affairs in our nation.
The NWC brings to the attention of President Muhammadu Buhari to some disturbing development in the polity which, if not nipped in the bud, might significantly affect our democracy and stability as a nation negatively, and that is the growing and unwarranted intrusion of some over-zealous security operatives on issues bordering purely on politics. In particular, the NWC wishes to draw the attention of the President to the continued intimidation, harassment as well as the hounding, arrest and detention of Electoral Officers and members of election tribunals by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Rivers, Akwa-Ibom and other PDP states.

The Royal Traditional Council of Ife has finally debunked the widely reported story of the demise of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuade (Olubuse II), saying the royal father is alive and in good health.
Addressing newsmen on Wednesday in the House of Chiefs located within the premises of Ile-Oodua palace of the first class monarch, the Lowa of Ife, Oba Joseph Ijaodola, said the report in the media that the monarch died in a London Hospital is totally false.
Oba Ijaodola further disclosed that the royal father is currently preparing for his son’s wedding fixed for next week Sunday.
Also speaking, secretary Royal Traditional Council of Ife, the Ladin of Ife, High Chief Adetoye Odewole, said Ooni is hale and hearty and even spoke to the chiefs on phone few hours earlier.
He added that those behind the death story are enemies of Ife. His words:

"As I speak with you, chiefs have not heard anything like that. This is not the first time such rumour will be carried about our father.
“They did it in 1984, also in 2004 and now, these people are coming up with another rumour. Oba Sijuade remains in sound state of health.”
Commenting in similar vein, chairman, Ife Development Board, Prof. Muib Opeloye, said Ife as a town with rich tradition has its way of managing its affairs.
Opeloye maintained the royal father is preparing for his son’s wedding, urging people not to panic.
Many indigenes of Ife had converged at entrance of the palace, but were prevented from entering by guards while the entire ancient town remain calm with people going about their normal businesses.

Why Detroit has the largest satanist temple chapter in the US
The group unveiled a nearly 9-foot tall bronze statue of a goat-headed Baphomet in a private ceremony attended by 600 ticket holders, Lucien Graves, co-founder of the national Satanic Temple organization in Boston. The Satanic Temple in Detroit has more than 200 registered members.
"They are so active and well-organized," Graves said. "There's probably been another wave of interest since this event."
The Detroit chapter is the first of the national organization, Graves
said. He credits the Detroit chapter's founder Jex Blackmore with the
growth of the chapter since it was established there in August 2014.
"It's more or
less because of her. She was just a very confident person who started
working with us," Graves said further. The pair met in Boston and then
she moved to Detroit and set up a chapter there.
Blackmore said it is their largest chapter.
"I think the Temple appeals to the radical, politically-charged spirit
of the city and many are drawn to us as a force of positive, effective
change in this community," Blackmore said.
The statue was originally planned to sit at the Oklahoma state capitol,
but the state's supreme court banned all religious displays there,
including the Ten Commandments. The statue was created through $28,180
fund-raised by 1,041 people on Indiegogo.com last year. The fundraising
page said the statue's purpose was to contrast the Ten Commandments
monument that was previously on display.
Graves said there are 20 chapters across the country with about 20,000 members as a whole.
Tickets for Saturday's event were $25 and the location was revealed only to ticket-holders.
According to its mission statement, the national organization, The
Satanic Temple, "facilitates the communication and mobilization of
politically aware Satanists, secularists, and advocates for individual
liberty." Among the causes it supports are gay marriage, reproductive
rights and eliminating corporal punishment in schools. The national
organization does "not promote a belief in a personal Satan."
"To embrace the name Satan is to embrace rational inquiry removed from
supernaturalism and archaic tradition-based superstitions," the FAQ of
TheSatanicTemple.com indicates.
Meanwhile, Christians in Detroit protested the event nearby. The event
served "as a call-to-arms from which we’ll kick off our largest fight to
date in the name of individual rights to free exercise against
self-serving theocrats," according to the invitation.
"People are trying to push religious agenda, whether it’s part of the
public opinion or not," Greaves said. "Groups will take it as slander
against them and it’s just not the case. We don’t really care if they’re
offended or not."
Baphomet was chosen for the statue because of the contemporary
recognition of it as a satanic figure and it illustrates the
“reconciliation of opposites,” Blackmore said.
“The Baphomet is both beast and man, female and male, one hand is
pointed toward the sky, the other to the ground,” Blackmore said. “It's
representative of the dualities of our nature
