Mum refuses to break into expensive BMW to save toddler son from heat
A mum has sparked outrage after she refused to allow firefighters to
break into her car to save her toddler son from the heat because the
vehicle was too expensive to damage.
The unnamed mother was unable to open the door of her BMW when it accidentally locked itself.
Her three-year-old son was trapped inside and was suffering in the heat as no windows were open.
Firefighters who arrived at the scene in Yiwu city, China, were about to break the glass to rescue the boy, but his mum told them she wanted to wait for a locksmith instead so the car would not be damaged.
Stunned onlookers looked on in horror as the toddler cried inside the vehicle as the oxygen levels rapidly went down.
Despite the mother’s desire to wait, firefighters eventually took matters into their own hands when the boy started to faint and they smashed the glass to rescue him.
One of the firefighters was quoted as saying: “It’s very dangerous to leave children inside cars, especially in such heat.
“It can threaten a child’s life in a very short time.”
The mother was blasted on social media, with one person writing:

"The mother shouldn’t have left her kid in the car in the first place. Even if the car did accidentally lock itself.
“What happens if someone breaks the window and abducts the kid?”
Another added: “It looks like the car is her real son.”
Another: BMW needs to hire 'Mum' as spokeswoman or Marketing Director!!!
Screw the car, it can be fixed but your child cant be. Good job fire department
Better yet, why not just have her kid taken away? She was so prepared to let him die for her car. Give him to a family
This story hurts me so much. Lady for goodness sake it's your child in there :/
Black Pastor Jailed for Refusing To Wed Gay Couple In US
Since we Africans say we can no longer respect our traditional marriage again, that it is the white man's Court Marriage that we must follow, why are we running away from their Gay Marriage? Lol!
A pastor at the Christian Proctor Church in Vermont, has been sentenced to one year in federal prison after he refused to marry a gay couple.
The Honorable Myron Danus handed down the harsh sentence. “Religious freedom goes both ways, Mr. Horner,” Danus told a packed courtroom. “It is not your place to deny individuals the same rights that everyone else has, rights that were passed down and agreed upon in a court of law, the ultimate court, the Supreme Court. It is not your decision whether or not you agree with the law but more importantly that you follow it and enforce it.”
The Pastor, 56-year-old Paul Horner, had his lawyer speak to reporters on his behalf:
The Pastor, 56-year-old Paul Horner, had his lawyer speak to reporters on his behalf:
“We are currently disputing the guilty verdict and I am confident my client will be a free man here shortly,” said attorney Tom Downey. “Horner was just using his best judgement according to his rights and religious freedom in this country.”
According to investigation, the Christian Proctor Church is registered with the state as a “religious corporation” limited to performing “one-man-one-woman marriages as defined by the Holy Bible.”
But the church is also registered as a for-profit business and city officials said that means the owners must comply with state and federal regulations.
Steve Shand president of the Vermont Family Research Committee, said it is “open season on Americans who refuse to bow to the government’s redefinition of marriage.”
“Homosexuals are gay,” Shand told reporters. “Why should Christian ministers be forced to perform and celebrate any marriage that conflicts with their beliefs? It’s a slippery slope my friend. Pretty soon these same pastors will be forced to wed animals or kitchen appliances. This is not my America!”
But one Gwen Hawkins who is president of the LGBT Pride Center said she is happy with the court.
“We just want the same rights as everyone else and this guilty verdict sets a great precedent,” Hawkins said. “These fanatical Christians base their life on one verse in the Bible but they seem to forget the other 99% of the verses in the book. For example, why can’t we stone to death Bristol Palinfor having a baby out of wedlock? And what about her mother, Sarah Palin, breaking the rules of Corinthians 14:34 which clearly state that as a woman, she is not allowed to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet. But no, they like to pick the one verse in the Bible about gay people and build their camp around it,” reports NBC.
This is really getting interesting.

Naira Crashes Further to 240 against One Dollar
The naira hit another record low of 241 against the dollar at the parallel market on Monday as the Central Bank of Nigeria’s restrictions on foreign exchange sale fuelled unofficial trade in dollars.
The ban on importers from accessing the Nigerian foreign exchange markets for the importation of 41 items had led to the volatility of the naira-dollar exchange rate at the black market.
Since June 23 when the new forex rule became operational, the naira has fallen by 10.5 per cent from 218 to 241 against the greenback. Foreign exchange dealers said the artificial scarcity of the United States currency still pervaded the market, Reuters reported..
The new forex rule had led to huge demand at the parallel market, causing dealers to hoard the dollar in anticipation of further fall in the naira
Economic analysts had said the CBN needed to devalue the naira to allow the local currency achieve an equilibrium price against the dollar.
CBN however said it would not be focusing on the thinly-traded parallel market when determining the exchange rate, adding that people preferred to use the unofficial market for undocumented transactions.

Jonathan panics, runs to Abuja as Buhari probes $2.1b oil cash
Former President Goodluck Jonathan has dashed into Abuja to meet some powerful men to seek protection from the ongoing secret investigation being carried out by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Jonathan is disturbed by the determination of President Buhari to expose how $2.1bn was illegally withdrawn from the Excess Crude Account (ECA).
Jonathan has already zoomed with his protest to General Abubakar Abdulsalami.
Jonathan has already zoomed with his protest to General Abubakar Abdulsalami.
The general is leader of the National Peace Committee for 2015 General Elections. The crux is that:
•the Buhari administration is trying to blackmail him and his erstwhile cabinet members;
•he is not pleased with the corruption tar being put on his administration; and that
•he is worried by the likely probe of the whereabouts of the $4billion taxes and dividends paid by the Nigerian Liquified Natural gas Ltd between 2009 and 2014.
Sources who pleaded anonymity “because of the sensitivity of the matter” told The Nation that Jonathan and some of his ministers are angry that Buhari ought to know that such taxes and dividends are remitted to the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).
Another matter that is seriously troubling Jonathan and his ministers, according to the sources, is how the NNPC under his watch allegedly blew N3.8trillion in three years.
The Abdulsalami Committee is yet to have audience with Buhari on the allegations made by Jonathan.
Jonathan arrived in the country last weekend to “defend his administration”. He could not be reached for his reactions as at the time of posting.
It was, however, learnt that he had chosen to table before the Abdulsalami Committee some issues, including the controversial $2.1bn withdrawn from the ECA without recourse to the NEC.
The source said: “The former President returned into the country at the weekend but he is unhappy with the bashing of his administration.
“Jonathan believes that Buhari is blackmailing him and his ministers, contrary to the terms of the 2015 poll peace agreement which led to a smooth transition from the PDP to the APC.
“I think Jonathan approached the Abdulsalami Committee so that he will be left alone by Buhari who openly said he inherited an empty treasury from his predecessor.”
A former minister in the Jonathan administration, who spoke in confidence, said: “The ex-President is unhappy that the administration of Buhari has been stigmatising his administration instead of putting him into confidence on issues.
“For God’s sake, let them allow this man to earn his well-deserved retirement. If there is any observation by the new government, there are standard official procedures of addressing such.”
Buhari had on June 29, raised a four-man panel to check how NNPC spent N3.8 trillion in three years.
The four ‘wise men’ are Governors Oshiomhole, Udom Emmanuel, El-Rufai and Dankwambo.
While awaiting the submission of the committee’s report, Oshiomhole revealed that the immediate past Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, took $2.1billion from the ECA without approval.
Out of the $2.1b, only $1b was paid to oil marketers as subsidy and the rest $1b used for GEJ's election.
