Ex-Governor Sule Lamido Cries Out From Prison
After spending just 72 hours with his two sons in Kano Central Prison,
immediate past governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, has cried out and
imputed political motives to his incarceration.
According to the former governor, he is being persecuted by those who feel that they would not be able to actualise their presidential ambition in 2019 with him around the political arena.
Lamido, who spoke exclusively to Sunday Vanguard through his media aide, Umar Kyari, drew the attention of Nigerians and the international community to the attempt being made by those he called “my political enemies” to silence him using the instrumentality of the EFCC.
Lamido pointed out that it was clear from the outset that there was a grand design to put him away in prison for a long time under the guise of money laundering so as to pave the way for his political enemies.
The former governor, whose many supporters relocated to the Kano Central Prison where they kept vigil over him and his two sons, said he was determined to prove to Nigerians that he was innocent but was merely being witch-hunted by those who feel threatened by his rising political profile.
Lamido’s spokesman said: “This current effort to frame and denigrate the former governor of Jigawa State with a view to rubbishing his high performance in office will come to naught at the end of the day.
“Lamido remains nothing but a scion of accountability and integrity who has always fought on the side of the people, particularly the downtrodden and the vulnerable, since he came into the national political scene.
“He remains unshaken over the trumped-up charges slammed on him by the EFCC knowing that he has not committed any offense to warrant being thrown into the prison over a bailable offense.
“But the refusal by his traducers to grant him and his sons bail when others charged same day and time for even more grievous offences were admitted to bail speaks volume of the intention and mindset of those who are after him.
“Nonetheless, Sule Lamido strongly believes that, after being imprisoned several times all in a bid to pave the way for sustained democracy in Nigeria, the current effort by the EFCC and others to humiliate him and his family over the so-called money laundering charges will not break his resolve to continue to fight on the side of the people.
“It is Lamido’s strong belief that having not committed any offense against the state to warrant being sent to prison, he and his sons will be freed and vindicated against the wicked plot of their adversaries”.
Meanwhile, Lamido is said to be overwhelmed by the large number of friends and well wishers from across Nigeria who have thronged the prison to show solidarity with him and his two sons.
A close source at the prison told Sunday Vanguard that Lamido was jolted by the show of love and solidarity that he shed what the source described as “tears of joy” on Friday.
You may wish to know that Lamido and his two sons, according to the charge sheet of the EFCC, are being tried for alleged money laundering of N1.3bn at a Federal High Court sitting in Kano.

EFCC says 2 key witnesses in Nyako suit have died mysteriously
EFCC disclosed that 2 of its crucial witnesses in the N29billion fraud case against former Adamawa state governor Murtala Nyako, his son Abdulazis and other associates, have died mysteriously. The anti-graft agency told a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Friday July 10th that the mysteriously deaths of the 2 men have put fear in other witnesses who are now refusing to cooperate with them for fear of the unknown. EFCC begged the court to remand Nyako and his co-accused as it would be dangerous to allow them go on bail & also so witnesses could come forward & testify against them
"Two of our crucial witnesses, Ma’aji Mohammed Iro and Abdulmalik Dalhatu have died in mysterious circumstances and this has instilled fear in other prospective witnesses in the case" EFCC told the courtMa’aji Mohammad Iro was a Regional Manager with Zenith Bank, who was in charge of Adamawa State Govt's accounts with the bank and allegedly assisted the former governor in the looting spree.

Men need to start asking some serious questions before they get with a woman these day. Like 'before I get naked, were you born a man or a woman?' Lol. It's hard to tell these days...

Ex Governor of Rivers State Amaechi gave the following aftermath of the APC convention. Gov. Amechi Said He Was Betrayed By Tinubu and Buhari
“Let it be known, that I didn’t just join the APC, I was wooed by the legacy parties and four other PDP governors then. Naturally in every bargain, interests must be spelt out. Of course they did promise me the Vice Presidential ticket in the forth coming election with a condition to sell the party and make President Jonathan unpopular. The initial arrangement was to pair me with Hon. Tambuwal (Speaker of House of Representatives) .
But when other entrants like Atiku and others entered the party, everything changed. It was Gov. Nyako that opened up to me on the recent changes, and pleaded with me to take the position of the National chairman of party, that it will be zoned to the South-South. And I grudgingly accepted. Now, in every political convention, consensus building is needed to harmonize all interests.
So I initiated a platform for the 16 APC governors to talk in Port-Harcourt last week. And in that meeting, the 13 governors and their deputies that were in attendance reassured me that I will be given the national chairmanship slot. But when I asked Gov. Adams to ask Chief Ikimi and John Oyegun to step down for my candidate, Adam’s quietly told me “My brother, I know the bad name they have called you in the South-South and Rivers in particular. Again, I sympathize with you because I know how much you have put-in in APC, this Yoruba and Hausa people can’t be trusted, they said you couldn’t build the APC in Rivers State and that only 95,633 out of the 1.3 million membership you claimed have passport photographs. That everything was doctored by you”.
I find it very disappointing, that we no longer have men of trust, and integrity. Men whose words should be their bond in politics. So last night, I made my position clear, that if the other candidates didn’t step down for Dr. Sam Sam Jaja, then there was no point picking the expression of interest form. I feel deeply betrayed”
J. K. Rowling comes for man who attributed Serena William's success to being 'built like a man
Serena Williams beat Garbine Muguruza to win Wimbledon today and British
billionaire author of Harry Porter series, J.K Rowling praised Serena
for the feat only for a man to say the reason Serena is successful is
because she's 'built like a man'. That didn't go down well with JK who
called him an idiot. More tweets after the cut...
